Steel Flanges – Weld Neck, Slip-On, Blind & More
Brandfittings produces a comprehensive range of ASME B16.5 steel flanges — weld neck, slip-on, blind, lap joint, socket weld, threaded and long weld neck — in forged carbon steel (ASTM A105), stainless steel (A182 F304/304L, F316/316L), alloy and low-temperature grades (A350 LF2). From Class 150 to Class 2500, with raised face, flat face or RTJ facing, we cover the full pressure range with complete material traceability.
Flanges are the backbone of every bolted piping connection — the right type, facing and pressure class determine whether your joint holds under temperature, vibration and pressure cycles. This page explains flange types, facings, materials, quality control and lead times so you can order the correct specification the first time.
Flange Types We Supply
- Weld Neck (WN) — the strongest connection; the flange neck is butt-welded to the pipe with full penetration. First choice for high-pressure and severe service.
- Slip-On (SO) — slides over the pipe and is fillet-welded on both sides; lower cost and easier alignment for lower-pressure systems.
- Blind (BL) — solid disc used to close off a line, vessel or valve end; available in every class.
- Lap Joint (LJ) — used with a stub end for systems that need frequent dismantling; the flange rotates freely.
- Socket Weld (SW) — pipe inserts into a socket and is fillet-welded; compact, leak-tight, common in small-bore high-pressure lines.
- Threaded (TH) — screws onto threaded pipe; ideal where welding is not permitted.
- Long Weld Neck (LWN) — extended hub for nozzle and high-stress applications.

Available Materials
| Material Grade | Standard | Typical Application |
|---|---|---|
| A105 | ASTM | Forged carbon steel, general purpose |
| A182 F304/304L | ASTM | Corrosion-resistant, food & pharma |
| A182 F316/316L | ASTM | Marine, chemical, acid service |
| A182 F5 / F9 / F11 / F22 / F91 | ASTM | High temperature / alloy |
| A350 LF2 | ASTM | Low temperature service |
A105 forged carbon steel covers the majority of utility and process duty. Stainless F304/F316 adds corrosion resistance for chemical, food and marine service; alloy grades (F11/F22/F91) handle high-temperature steam and hydrogen service; A350 LF2 is specified for low-temperature plants. Our engineers will confirm the right grade from your design conditions.

Manufacturing & Quality Control
Flanges are forged from certified billet, heat-treated (normalizing or quench & temper as required) and precision-machined on CNC lathes. Every flange is verified for bore, OD, bolt circle, facing finish (125–250 AARH standard) and thickness against ASME B16.5 tolerances, with the grade and heat number stamped on the hub. MTC (EN 10204 3.1) ships with every order, and third-party inspection by SGS, BV or TÜV can be arranged before shipment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which flange type should I choose — weld neck or slip-on?
Weld neck flanges are the strongest choice for high-pressure and severe service because the neck is butt-welded with full penetration. Slip-on flanges are cheaper and easier to align, and are commonly used in lower-pressure systems. Our weld neck vs slip-on guide covers the full comparison.
What pressure classes and facings do you supply?
We supply Class 150 to Class 2500 flanges with raised face (RF), flat face (FF) or ring type joint (RTJ) facings, plus tongue & groove and male-female on request.
What standards do your flanges comply with?
ASME B16.5 (up to 24″) and ASME B16.47 Series A & B (large diameter), with EN 1092-1, GOST 33259 and JIS B2220 also available. MTC EN 10204 3.1 ships with every order.
Can you supply bolts, nuts and gaskets with the flanges?
Yes — we can supply complete joint sets including bolts, nuts and gaskets matched to your pressure class and facing.
What are your lead times?
Standard sizes in stock ship in 7–10 days. Production orders take 30–45 days, and custom or alloy items 45–60 days, depending on size, class and quantity.
